Church Affiliation
Our church is one of approximately 11,000 member congregations of the Presbyterian Church (USA). Each local church is governed by a representative democracy. Men and women are elected each year by the congregation to serve as ELDERS, ( members of the SESSION).

The Session

The Session is charged with the responsibility of overseeing all church related activity. There are twelve Elders and the Pastor on the Session. Elders commit to serve for three years. The Session is organized into four commissions.
The Session meets on the third Thursday of every month. Meetings are ordinarily open and your suggestions and concerns are always welcome at Session meetings!

The Stewardship Commission
This group oversees the concerns related to building and grounds, finances, personnel, stewardship campaigns, and the building budget.

The Education Commission
These members oversee and empower volunteers for ministry in the areas of Christian Education, Special Education, and related opportunities.

The Outreach Commission

This commission relates to reaching out into the community, recruiting greeters and ushers, organizing visitor follow-up, and orienting and assimilating new members. They also oversee the Deacons' mission work.

The Spiritual Life Commission

This group ministry provides guidance in worship, communion schedule, baptism, small group ministry, nursery care on Sunday mornings, and youth ministry.

The Board of Deacons
The Board of Deacons consists of twelve women and men who direct the ministry of caring for our congregation. Their work is divided between providing practical, caring support for members and friends and organizing CPC's service to the community and world.
